Stuck brainstorming? Try checking some of these ideas out and get a little bit creative. Sometimes novels with an odd plot can be the most fun to read! Here are a few of the funny premises I thought of:
- A plastic glove goes missing…but why is the person who wore the glove intent on finding it again?
- A deceased man is found murdered, and clenched in his hand is a jar of peanut butter.
- After being missing for three years, a woman mysteriously returns to her home, claiming she had never disappeared to begin with.
- A dog is found with a note taped to his back explaining that he has witnessed a murder and can lead you to the killer.
- A ripped up T-shirt proves to be the most important clue to figuring out where a kidnapper is hiding his victims.
- An author leaves clues inside her most recent book, silently begging from help out of her dangerous situation.
- The only way to find a girl’s missing purse is to find her favorite pen…but why?
- A thief is known for stealing men’s watches…right off their hands, yet he is never caught. How does he do it, and how do the police catch on?
- Someone is stealing all of the neighborhood’s cats and then releasing them again with a collar and a nametag that would belong to a different cat. But what are this person’s intentions?
- A gas station is robbed by some professional crooks, but instead of stealing the money, what do they take?
